6 Days Chimps, Gorilla & Cultural Tour

Day 1: Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a city tour to genocide memorial centers in Kigali, later proceed to Nyungwe Forest. Have en route lunch in Butare town; visit Rwanda National Museum, Murambi genocide memorial sites, Enjoy dinner and overnight at Nyungwe forest lodge /Peace Guest House /Gisakura Guesthouse

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy walk

Have breakfast at the lodge and enter Nyungwe forest in the quest for 13 primate species and over 300 species of bird, making it a bird watcher’s paradise! There are a lot of habituated Chimpanzees whose groups can incorporate 400 to 500 individuals! After this tracking you will come back to your lodge for late lunch, unwind and after go for a canopy walk or cultural stroll around the local communities where you will be entertained with traditional dances and drama, and learn more about the African culture. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight as on day one.

Day 3: Transfer to Gisenyi Town

Take morning breakfast and connect to Gisenyi town; a wonderful place to relax, having a captivating feel of a tropical beach resort due to its waterfront and sandy beaches and excellent views of Lake Kivu. After lunch, visit hot springs and relax at Lake Kivu shores in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Regina Hotel / Peace land Hotel/paradise Malahide hotel.

Day 4: Iby’Iwacu Cultural Excursion: Rwandan Culture

After breakfast, visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a wonderful and interactive experience, and learn all about Rwandan traditions, culture, songs, and dance. You may also participate in the local activities and taste local foods and wines. You will spend the night here, in traditional houses and participate in Gitaramo, a cultural tradition of sharing stories, song, and dance while sitting around a warm fire or you can have dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guesthouse or Gorilla Nest lodge near the home of gorillas.

Alternatively, on day 4, we can take a morning boat ride to the Coffee Island or Hot springs before heading to Volcanoes Gorilla Park.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking in Parc National des Volcans
