Day 1: Airport Transfer
Arrival at Kigali International Airport and you will be met by the tour guide from African Jungle Adventures who will drive you to your hotel in Kigali City. Take a rest, then after lunch go for a city tour in Kigali with stops at the genocide memorial centers, art and craft center, local markets and other different areas of interest. After the city tour, you will return to your hotel for overnight at Hotel des Mille Collines / Garr Hotel / Urban boutique hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, you will meet the safari guide from the hotel and then transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park the home to over 13 species of primates. Visit the Nyanza palace, Murambi Memorial and Butare Museum en-route. Your lunch will be en-route and proceed to the park for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Forest Lodge / Gisakura Guest House / Nyungwe Top View lodge.
Day 3: Chimps tracking and Colobus Monkey Tour
Today after breakfast, you will drive to the Nyungwe Forest National Park headquarters. You have a short briefing from the ranger guide about the Dos and don’ts While with the chimpanzee in the jungle before entering the forest for tracking. You will enjoy them feeding, playing around while taking observation and photos. Toward the evening, you may go for colobus monkey tracking where you will experience other primate species as velvet monkeys, blue hoest monkeys, and many others. You will have dinner and overnight stay at your lodge as on day two.
Day 4: Canopy and Nature Walks
After breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer the park headquarters for a canopy walk within Nyungwe Forest to enjoy the beautiful sights and several species of birds, for example, the Rwenzori Turacos, Hornbills, and many others. You will likewise have a self-guided stroll after lunch around the nearby environment and the Kamiranzovu waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge as on day two.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Kivu
Take breakfast and transfer to Lake Kivu. Enjoy an amazing view of the Virunga Mountains and the green vegetation en-route. You will have lunch en-route and then continue for either a boat cruise along Lake Kivu or unwinding on the shores. You will have dinner and overnight at Palm Resort Gardens / Paradise Malahide / Kivu Serena Hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes and Golden Monkey Tracking
This morning you will have breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes National Park to catch up with the golden monkey tracking. These are the most endangered primate species at Volcanoes National Park. In the late afternoon, you may go for a cultural stroll to Iby’wachu for cultural entertainment by the Banyarwanda community. You will have dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Hotel / La Palme Hotel/le Bambou gorilla lodge / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.
Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Tracking.
After breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park and be briefed and appointed a gorilla family. The stunning trek, in which you follow in the footsteps of the rare and basically endangered mountain gorilla, the biggest living primate on Earth, begins in the foothills of the Virunga with eye-catching perspectives in all directions. After entering the national park, the paths are littered with the crisp spoor of the slippery buffalo and elephant, and trekkers will be immersed in the obscure intimacy of the rainforest, alive with lively birds and butterflies. Trekking through the forest, the stilled and experienced trackers will soon bring you up close to one gorilla family. During the 1 hour of interaction with the extraordinary gorillas, you will get to think about their day by day life, and feeding pattern. Dinner and overnight will be at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / Le Bambou Lodge / Kinigi Guest House.
Day 8: Transfer to Kigali, city tour and departure.
Enjoy in your breakfast at the lodge and transfer back to Kigali arriving at right on time for a city tour in Kigali where you will visit Nyamata Church, local markets, Genocide Museum among others. Later, continue to Kigali International Airport to catch up with your scheduled flight back home.
