The lodge was established in 1954, in Murchison Falls National Park. The safari lodge is found in the northwestern part of Uganda overlooking one of nature’s best-kept secrets, the River Nile, on its excursion from its source at Lake Victoria to join Lake Albert – here it is all of a sudden directed into a gorge only six meters wide and falls 43 meters below. The earth actually trembles at Murchison Falls National Park- one of the world’s most compelling streams of natural water.
Paraa Safari Lodge offers a special blend of comfort, unwinding, and adventure. Each of the rooms is a haven of style and serenity, complete with balcony and private bathroom.
The safari décor of the lodge still reflects the past time of early explorers, hallowed with a modern touch. The luxurious pool overlooks the winding River Nile below, which was the setting for the excellent Hollywood movie “The African Queen” (featuring Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart). Enjoy a variety of excursions and activities; from elating Safari drives to boat cruise along the River Nile, ending at the foot of Murchison Falls. For the more adventurous, one can hike up to the top of the falls and wonder about the perspectives through the fog. A variety of ecosystems and an amazing 451 species of fowls expects you here.
Paraa Safari Lodge offers an extraordinary blend of comfort, unwinding, and adventure. Set in a region of landscaped gardens, the lodge recreates an inclination that we have come to associate with the famous explorers of East Africa.
Paraa Safari Lodge offers a choice of fine dining all around one’s stay, and the Explorer’s bar is the perfect watering hole a day later of wildlife discovery in Murchison Falls National Park.
