The 4 days tour with two gorilla treks in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is another interesting and common short tour in Uganda which reward you a chance to visit different gorillas families in the park. This tour starts and ends in Kampala. A part from mountain gorillas, the trips also reward you a chance to meet different wildlife species in the park, for example; 348 species of birds, 120 species of mammals. The park is also one of the most diverse forests the region, with over 1,000 flowering plant species, including 163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
After morning meal at your hotel in Kampala, you will be moved to South Western Uganda where Bwindi national park is Found and established. En route, you will have a stopover at the Equator at Kayabwe for taking photos and some educational words from the tour guide. Proceed to Mbarara town for a lunch stopover. After lunch, you will continue with the journey to the park and will take you through the rolling green high grounds and highlands of Uganda. The journey will reward you with the magnificent view of triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and the Congo. We then fall down into a valley, to Bwindi forest, home of the gorilla. Have dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma Community Bandas / Nkuringo Gorilla Camp / Gorilla Mist Camp / Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After early morning breakfast, you will then drive to the park headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing and direction of the activity. After this, you will be joined by equipped ranger guide in the forest to track for the Mountain Gorillas. You will penetrate through the forest, cutting the undergrowth, separating thick creepers, to track gorillas. The time taken to track the Gorillas is unpredictable since it depends on the movement of the gorillas in a quest for nourishment and shelter. Be that as it may, it can take from 2 to 9 hours. You will have a maximum of one hour with the gorillas and this will allow you to observe, take photos and interact with them. Return again to your lodge for dinner and overnight as on day 1.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Safari
On this day, you will follow the same procedure like on day 2, you’ll visit a different gorilla group, and totally different from the one visited on day 2. After this adventurous adventure, you will return back to the lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the world’s freshwater lakes in East Africa. You will have dinner and overnight at Acadia Cottages/Bunyonyi Overland Camp.
Day 4: Transfer to Kampala.
After early morning breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer for a boat cruise along the lake and move around the Islands on the lake and have a picturesque perspective of the generally terraced hills around the lake. Later hit the road back to Kampala with en-route stop for photography and lunch arriving late towards evening, and then transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
