Mweya Safari Lodge offers a memorable experience to its visitors. Found on a peninsula inside the heart of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mweya Safari Lodge is encompassed by the mysterious Rwenzori Mountains suitably described as the ‘Mountains of the Moon’.
To the east of the lodge, found the guardians of the origination of mankind, the Great Rift Valley hills, divided from the Mountains of the Moon by the meandering Kazinga Channel. Here the water flows endlessly into two giant lakes – Lake George and Lake Edward.
The Lodge offers several tourist activities and attractions: take a game drive and explore a vast array of wild game; experience a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel using one of our luxury boats; or watch over 619 different species of birds available to be seen. Nearby, chimpanzees could be found in the stunning Kyambura gorge – a formation of the natural rift in the earth. Here the old movement of tectonic plates has made natural forest habitat for hippos, monkeys, chimpanzees, elephants, and buffaloes.
Each one room at Mweya Safari Lodge has a stunning view of the Kazinga channel. You can watch the forest hogs grazing the grass outside and in addition the odd curious hippo! The cooking at Mweya Safari Lodge is of the highest quality, presenting a range of exquisite Continental, Indian and international food.
For those who need to relax, what better way than with a massage? The Mweya Health Club and spa offers treatments to revitalize you after a long day out in the national park. With an abundance of game and a percentage of the best bird viewing in Africa, Mweya Safari Lodge is the ideal spot to begin your journey of discovery.
