10 Days Uganda Wildlife and Primates Safari

Day 1: Arrival at the Airport

Upon landing in Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your tour guide/driver who will transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala for relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight at Kampala Serene Hotel/Hotel Africana/ Hotel Ruch.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After having heavy breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, you will meet our tour guide who will drive you to Fort portal town arriving in time for Lunch. After your lunch in Fort-Portal, you will visit the crater region then afterward continue to Kibale Forest National Park for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Guest House/Chimp Nest/Kibale Forest Camp/Primates Lodge/Ndali Lodge.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trek and Bigodi Swamp walk

chimpanzee-tracking-ugandaAfter having heavy morning breakfast at your lodge, you will go to the Park Headquarters of Kibale Forest National Park at Kanyachu for a briefing on rules and regulations while you’re on chimps tracking activity. Afterword you will enter the park with the Ranger Guide in search the Chimpanzees which are Man’s closest Cousins. Kibale Forest home to about 12 species of primates incorporating the Chimpanzees, the red colobus, and L’hoests monkeys, Vervet Monkeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, baboons et cetera. You will encounter how the chimps feed and interact with one another. After this great activity you will return back to your hotel for lunch and toward the evening set out for the Nature walk in Bigodi swamp. Here nature stroll will reward you with the view of different bird species and also some primates. Bigodi swamp is well known as a bird watchers paradise due to the numerous bird species that can be watched in the swamp. Return back to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your Lodge as on day 2.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After having breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The excursion will take you through the historical Kasese town with a clear perspective of the mountains of the Moon or the Rwenzori Mountain. As you enter the Park, you will enjoy a game drive en-route. Continue with your journey to Mweya for a guided nature stroll in the Maramagambo forest for primate watching and visits to the bat cave and the blue lake. You will have your dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba Safari Camp/Ihamba Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Game Drive and Launch Cruise

After having a heavy breakfast at the lodge, you will set out for the morning game drive in the Kasenyi area. Here pay special mind to animals, for example, the Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Elephants, Kobs, Antelopes and many more. Come back to your lodge for lunch and toward the evening, set out for the Launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This will give you the chance to view wildlife up close, for example, hippo’s huff and spray mere feet far from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are additionally home to several bird species incorporating pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this marvelous afternoon, a slow drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

After having a heavy breakfast at your lodge, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famously known as the Ishasha sector known for the rare tree climbing lions in Fig and acacia trees. Here you will see tree-climbing lions and also different animals in the sector. Continue with your journey to Bwindi National Park arriving in the evening. Have dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas/Gorilla Resort/Gorilla Mist Camp/Nkuringo Gorilla Camp/Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.

Day 7: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

After early morning breakfast, you will then drive to the park headquarters of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing and direction of the activity. After this, you will be joined by equipped ranger guide in the forest to track for the Mountain Gorillas. You will penetrate through the forest, cutting the undergrowth, separating thick creepers, to track gorillas. The time taken to track the Gorillas is unpredictable since it depends on the movement of the gorillas in a quest for nourishment and shelter. Be that as it may, it can take from 2 to 9 hours. You will have a maximum of one hour with the gorillas and this will allow you to observe, take photos and interact with them. Return again to your lodge for dinner and overnight as on day 6.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Lake Mburo National Park. The beautiful drive will take you through the Kabale district which is regarded as the Switzerland of Africa due to its topography full of hills and highlands. You will en route stop in Mbarara town for lunch and then proceed with the journey, enter the Park through the Nshara gate. At your arrival at Lake Mburo National park, you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you will be rewarded with a view several water-loving animals like Hippos, crocodiles and more. Have your dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge/Mantana Luxury Tented Camp/Arcadia Cottages.

Day 9: Game Drive and transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, you will embark on morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park to search for animals like the Zebra, Impala, Eland and other savannah species. Also keep your eyes out for plenty of bird species like African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike and more. Later transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route at the equator. Dinner and overnight stay at Kampala Serene Hotel/Hotel Africana/ Hotel Ruch Kampala

Day 10: Departure

After having a heavy breakfast at your hotel, you will embark on a city tour in Kampala the Capital City of Uganda, visit the Kasubi Tombs, The Kabaka’s Palace, Namugongo Martyrs’ Shrine and Uganda Museum. After all that you will be transferred to the Airport for your flight back home.
